Capital Project

The East Greenbush CSD has proposed a $116 million capital project that, if approved by voters, would improve facilities and grounds at all seven schools at no additional cost to the local taxpayer. The proposed capital project will be a proposition on the School Budget Vote and Board Election ballot scheduled for Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

The East Greenbush Central School District Board of Education approved a change to the school calendar on Wednesday evening that would end the year for students and online instruction on June 15. The last day for faculty and other 10-month employees would be a Professional Development Day on June 16.

The motion was brought to the board by Superintendent Jeff Simons to account for the lost spring recess, which without any action, would have put staff over the maximum number of work days in their contracts. The change will also give relief to families who have been overseeing distance learning from home since mid-March.

Meal services and the childcare program will continue through June 30 pending further guidance from the state.

The calendar changes are subject to any future directives or mandates from the state.
