Kindergarten Returns Full Time Starting March 1

The Board of Education has approved two changes to the instructional model: 1) Kindergarten students will resume five days a week of in-person learning starting on Monday, March 1. The Full Remote Program is still available to families. 2) Live Virtual Wednesdays will be eliminated for students in grades 1-5 starting March 10 to provide one additional in-person school day every other week. March 10 will be an in-person school day for B Day students and A Day students will have a remote day. The schedule will alternate going forward.

As we look forward to the future of the graduating 8th grade class and these students moving on to Columbia High School, the Goff PTO would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate our children for their hard work, dedication and willingness to rise to the challenges they have had to face in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. They have faced obstacles that are beyond comprehension and we would be remiss to not recognize their courage and resilience.

We are saddened by the many end of the year events they will miss this year and we would like to acknowledge each and every one of them for all they have accomplished in middle school. The parents, families and community would like to provide each student with a token of celebration as they complete their middle school years and begin their high school journey.

In order to make this happen for our children, the Goff PTO is in need of donations to cover gifts for nearly 300 8th grade students. Donations will be accepted now thru Saturday, May 30 and can be made via PayPal (, Venmo (@Michele-Skumurski) or by check made payable to Kelleen Guariglia, 12 Thoroughbred Drive, East Greenbush, NY 12061.

We hope you would please consider giving to this fund so we can all celebrate our graduating 8th graders. We thank you so much for your help in making this happen.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Michele Skumurski, Kelleen Guariglia or Theresa Poitras.
