Goff Middle School entranceHoward L. Goff Middle School has invited all 8th graders and their parents to an Elevation Celebration drive-by parade at the school on Monday, June 15 from 3:00-7:30 p.m.

While this event will not be the same as the traditional Elevation Celebration, it will still allow 8th grade graduates to be celebrated for their hard work and success while their teachers cheer them on and wish them well.

During the parade, Goff teachers, staff, and administrators will be lined up along the Goff sidewalk, cheering and celebrating the 8th grade students as they drive by the building with their families in their vehicles. The outside of the school will be decorated and we would also like families to decorate their cars for the parade. Families should also have a name tag/sign with the student’s first and last name visible to help us identify the students.

Entrance to the parade will be through the garden side entrance. As families drive through the parade line with their 8th grade student, an administrator will be going to the car to hand the student their moving up certificate and a goodie bag prepared by 8th grade parents through donations from our families and local businesses. Additionally, any student who was a recipient of an award this year will receive their recognition item at this time.

The 8th grade student who is graduating should sit in the passenger seat so he/she/they can easily accept their certificate, goodie bag, and award; no one may leave the car, but parents/guardians/family members in the vehicle may take pictures or record the celebration from their car; expect delays and plan accordingly. For the safety and well-being of others, we are limiting the caravan to one vehicle per family.

We would also like all students and family members to wear masks in their car as administrators will be approaching cars and will be adhering to CDC guidelines during this celebration.

We look forward to seeing our 8th grader students and their families at this end of year celebration and offer closure to the 2019-2020 school year.
