The Tech Valley Center of Gravity (TVCOG) is offering a virtual summer robotics program for students ages 11-14. Students will be lent robotics kits for the duration of the class, and will be able to design, build and program their robots right at home.

As they guide their robots through various challenges and tasks, students will not only learn the basics of robotics, but will also develop critical thinking, research and presentation skills.

Due to the complexity involved in learning robotics, the intensive programs are kept intentionally small, with six students maximum, and two instructors serving each class in order to spend more time with students individually, building valuable skills in programming and problem solving. There is no previous experience required, and beginners are welcome!

The course is taught by Sam Bonfante and Meeghan Appleman, volunteer coaches for TVCOG’s First Lego League Team, and experienced Lego Robotics instructors.

Sessions:

  • Session #1 – July 27-August 7, 1-3 p.m. on weekdays
  • Session #2 – August 12-August 25, 1-3 p.m. on weekdays

Registration Fee: $500*
*Please note that the registration fee does not include a $100 refundable materials deposit for the Robotics Kits.
