COVID-19 Updates and Information

Starting Monday, May 10, 6th grade students can report to school four days a week. A Day and B Day students in 6th Grade would learn at school on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Live Virtual Wednesdays will remain in place. The Full Remote program will still be available to families who choose that option. Grades 7-12 will maintain the current hybrid schedule and all instruction provided to students on remote learning days will include live virtual instruction.

The East Greenbush Central School District will not be making any changes to the 2020-21 Instructional Calendar at this time. District administrators have evaluated the calendar and the number of in-person school days for A Group students and B Group students and found only a 1.5 day difference among the K-5 groups, a .5 day difference for grades 6-8 and a 1.0 day difference for grades 9-12.

The month by month breakdown regarding in-person instructional days based on the original school calendar is as follows:

The following days were excluded in this calculation as their status is unknown at this time:

  • Thursday, April 1, 2021 – Emergency Closing Makeup Day
  • Monday, April 12, 2021 – Emergency Closing Makeup Day
  • Friday, May 28, 2021 – Emergency Closing Makeup Day
  • Tuesday, June 1, 2021 – Emergency Closing Makeup Day

While no changes to the calendar will be made at this time, the district will continue to monitor the situation (e.g., emergency closings, etc.). Based on that data, minor changes could be made to the calendar in April or May after the scheduled Spring Recess.
