The East Greenbush Central School District was informed by the Rensselaer County Health Department on Wednesday that a Columbia High School student tested positive for COVID-19. The student is enrolled in the Full Remote Program.

Individuals who attend on campus have been identified as contacts to this case by the county health department due to their attendance at a social gathering last weekend which was unrelated to the school district. These individuals have been advised to quarantine.

The county health department is engaged in the contact tracing process and is notifying the affected individuals and their families. If you are not contacted there is no further action needed on your part.

In the event that further developments occur or if additional information regarding this matter becomes available to our school district, the school community will be kept informed.

Those with questions are advised to call the county health department directly at 518-270-2655 or contact the district’s COVID-19 Coordinator at Columbia High School at 518-207-2010, Ext. 4821.
