Kindergarten Registration Information for 2021-22

East Greenbush Central School District is now enrolling kindergarten students for the 2021-22 school year. To be eligible for kindergarten in September 2021, your child must turn five years old by December 1, 2021.

Kindergarten registration packets are being mailed to all eligible families in the district database. If your child is not currently in the district database, please call the school your child will attend to have the registration packet mailed to you. If you are not sure which school they will attend, call the Registrar’s office at 518-207-2062. The packet will provide you with a list of all the documents you need to bring as well as all the forms you need to fill out prior to registration.

All students who reside in the East Greenbush Central School District who are going to attend kindergarten need to register with the district. This includes students registered to receive special education services and students attending private, parochial or special placement schools. If your child is attending one of these schools and not an EGCSD school, you may contact the Registrar for your information.

Parents are encouraged to register kindergarten students during the dates/times listed below at their home school. Registrations will be by appointment only due to COVID-19 restrictions. Please contact your home school’s main office to schedule your registration time.

Registration Schedule

Once your child is registered for kindergarten, a screening will be scheduled for your child at their elementary school (by appointment) in the spring. You will receive notice of that in the mail once you have completed the registration process.
