Pre-K Applications

The East Greenbush Central School District is now accepting applications for its 2023-24 Pre-K Program for eligible 4-year-old students. All applicants will be entered into a lottery, which will be held Monday, April 17, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in the Genet Elementary School auditorium. The deadline for applications is Friday, March 31, 2023.

Columbia Taps 110 Seniors for National Honor Society

Columbia High School tapped 110 new members of the school’s National Honor Society chapter earlier this month. Teachers and staff recognized the students, both at school for in-person students and at home for full remote students, by surprising them with special shirts, funny sunglasses, special treats and more.

To be inducted into the National Honor Society, students must excel in Academics, Leadership, Service and Character:

  • Academics: 90% weighted average
  • Leadership: Demonstrates leadership in extracurricular activities, classroom discussions, and contributes to improve the civic life of the school and community.
  • Service: Participation in extracurricular activities each year throughout their tenure in high school (9-12).  Activities, ie: athletics, drama club, scouting, 4-H Club, and community volunteer services.
  • Character: Upholds principles of morality and ethics, demonstrates high standards of honesty and reliability. Observes proper conduct in school, follows rules, punctuality, and respect for others.
