Parent Drop-off and Pick-Up Concerns and Changes:

With the increase of students returning at Genet, we have seen an increase of parents wanting to drop off and pickup their children.  While we want to accommodate all request, we are beginning to impact traffic on Route 4. I ask that families please consider having your child ride the bus to and from school to help alleviate traffic congestion. When dropping off in the morning, please follow the direction of the staff member outside.  We need parents to pull up as indicated by the staff member to maximize the number of students we can unload at one time.

If needed, I will need to make changes to our drop off /pick up schedule.  If you wish to make any changes, please e-mail Mrs. Giordano at giordasa@egcsd.org.  Additionally, if you are new to the afternoon parent pickup procedures and we do not know you by child or face yet, please be patient with us.  We ask that everyone has their driver’s license with them if we ask to see it.

Starting April 13th, we will keep the parent drop off staffed until 8:55 AM.  If there are not staff members at the back doors, please pull around to the front of Genet.  Your child will need to be escorted in to the building and signed in at the main vestibule.

Thank you for your assistance with this matter. It is greatly appreciated.

Genet Running Club:

We are excited to share that we will begin holding our Genet Jaguars Running Club starting after the Spring Break.  Currently we will be offering the Running Club to our 4th and 5th Graders.    Information was sent home with students this week.  At this time, we cannot have a student attend multiple sessions, as we want to ensure all that want to participate are able to do so.  If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our PE team: Mr. Leyhane (leyhaneke@egcsd.org) and Mr. Preston (prestonja@egcsd.org).  Please click here to view the informational flyer: Genet Jaguar Running Club Informational Flyer.

I wish you all the best tomorrow and over Spring Break. I hope you are able to enjoy some time with your family and I look forward to everyone’s returning to Genet the week of April 12th.

Sincerely,

Wayne Grignon
Principal
