Michael Buono was re-elected president of the Board of Education.
The East Greenbush Central School District Board of Education elected its officers for the 2021-22 school year at its organizational meeting on Tuesday evening in the Columbia High School Library.
Michael Buono (president), Mark Mann (vice president), JoAnn Taylor (deputy treasurer) and Deanna Muth (assistant clerk) were all re-elected to their current positions.
During the meeting, board members who were elected by voters in May took their oaths of office including Cheryl Kennedy, who joins the board for a three-year term, and John Dunn, Ms. Taylor and Frank Yeboah who were all re-elected.
“Thank you to my colleagues,” said Mr. Buono, who begins his fifth year as board president. “It’s a rewarding position. I enjoy tremendously working with all of you here and supporting our school district, our families and our students.”
About the Board of Education
The Board of Education is comprised of nine volunteer members from the community who are elected by district voters. The Board establishes policy and sets the direction for the administration of the school district. Public meetings are held twice monthly.
