Good Afternoon Genet Families!
The first two days are in the books! I was able to pop into all classrooms to welcome our students on the first day of school! I can share that over the past two days, our students seem ecstatic to be back to school and with their friends and the Genet Team. To be honest, we are just as excited! Here are a few updates from the week and items to look forward to in the future:
Next week is a B week for specials. This only impacts specials for the extra PE class. If you have any questions regarding your child(ren)’s specials, please reach out to your child(ren)’s classroom teacher.

PTO Meeting – Monday, September 13
On Monday, September 13th, we will be having our first PTO meeting of the school year. Our PTO is wonderful and extremely supportive and dedicated to our amazing school. Our meetings this year will be in person. Our first meeting will take place in the library (on the second floor) starting at 6:30 p.m. The meeting is open to anyone who would like to attend.
Student Verification Forms
Yesterday and/or today, students were sent home with their student verification form for parents to review and update. This was printed on blue paper. Please take a minute, if you haven’t already, and update the information found on the sheet. It is imperative that all information is correct as this will be updated in PowerSchool and it is how we communicate with parents (phone and email). Please also remember to review your child(ren)’s emergency locations if we have to dismiss early. ALSO don’t forget to sign the bottom of your child(ren)’s sheet! This form is only for reference and you should make any and all changes on the copy sent home with your child(ren) this week.
As a reminder, tonight is Genet’s Ice Cream Social. All are welcome to attend if you would like. Again, even though this event is outdoors, we highly encourage all to wear a mask at this event.
