All Open Houses in the East Greenbush Central School District will be offered virtually this fall. The virtual format will ensure that parents receive full information regarding grade level and course curriculum expectations and prevent large gatherings of people within classrooms contributing to the potential spread of COVID-19 among attendees and faculty/staff.

Open House Schedule

  • Grades K-5 – Tuesday, September 28, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
  • Grades 6-8 – Thursday, September 30
  • Grades 9-12 – Tuesday, September 21

Grades K-5

In general, parents can join live Google Meets hosted by their child’s classroom teacher. In some limited circumstances, teachers may pre-record sessions for parents. Special Area teachers (Art, P.E., Music, Library, AIS, Service Providers, etc.) will provide a recorded video and/or have a brief live opportunity for questions and answers. Open House is a time to learn about your child’s grade level program. If you have concerns or other information specific to your child that you would like to share with your child’s teacher, you may make an appointment to meet individually at a later date. Each school will send out additional information next week specific to the Open House.

Grades 6-12

In order to facilitate opportunities for parents/guardians to receive full information regarding course curriculum and expectations for a full schedule of classes and subjects, presentations will be recorded and posted for parents and guardians. This will ensure that parents/guardians have adequate time to learn about all courses within their child’s current schedule avoiding the need to rush through one virtual class presentation to get to the next virtual presentation. Parents will be able to view the presentations either on the date at which open house is scheduled or at any time which is personally convenient for them. Teachers will provide their email or preferred contact information so that parents/guardians who may have questions can obtain more information.
