Good Afternoon Genet Families!
Happy Friday to you all! We had a wonderful time this week with our Scholastic Book Fair and school pictures. If your child was absent on school picture day, school picture retakes will be on December 2nd. They can have their pictures taken then as well as any families that may want to have retakes. More information regarding picture retakes as we get closer. Here are a few updates for families:

Genet Movie Night is TONIGHT!
Tonight the Genet PTO is sponsoring a Movie Night for families. A flyer went home with students last week. The movie night will be streamed for families that are interested to participate virtually. Information was sent home today with your child with their username/login and password to be able to watch the live stream this evening. Halloween Reminder:
Families, last week your child(ren) was sent home with a letter regarding Genet’s Halloween Parade. I am also sharing it here in .pdf format: Genet’s Halloween Celebration 2021. Please take a moment and read this letter as it contains a lot of important information.
As we anticipate families wishing to take their child(ren) home after the parade, we are looking to get a better handle on how many students will be leaving after the parade. I please ask that families who are planning on taking their child(ren) home after the parade, please complete a google form for each of your children. At the completion of the Halloween Parade, families will need to come to the main lobby to sign-out their child(ren) with a member of the Genet Team. As the parade will be taking place at 2:00 PM and regular dismissal begins at 3:05, I kindly ask that you pick up your child(ren) after the parade to ensure we do not impact regular dismissal.

This link will accept responses until 5:00 PM on Thursday, October 28th. After that, no additional names will be added and students will take their normal dismissal method home.
Genet’s Trunk or Treat Event:
As previously shared, Genet PTO is looking to hold its first Trunk or Treat event for students. Here is a flyer that was sent home with students today. The PTO is looking to get a head count of children so they can have enough candy on hand and kindly ask you to fill out the link in the .pdf. There is also still time to host a trunk if interested! Thanksgiving Meal Baskets:

Winter Coat Drive:

Emergency Dismissal Day – November 10th
This week your child(ren) should have come home with a letter from our Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction regarding our Emergency Preparedness Drill coming in November. If you have missed it, I have attached it here for you: Emergency Preparedness Drill Letter. Please take a moment and review the letter.
