EDITOR’S NOTE: The Genet case listed below was updated to show three contacts quarantined instead of one due to that positive case.

The East Greenbush Central School District has been informed that 11 students have tested positive for COVID-19. In total, four students have been placed in mandatory quarantine as a precaution.

Columbia High School

  • A student from Columbia High School has tested positive for COVID-19. The student’s last day in school was December 13. There was no exposure at school related to this case.
  • A student from Columbia High School has tested positive for COVID-19. The student’s last day in school was December 9. There was no exposure at school related to this case.
  • A student from Columbia High School has tested positive for COVID-19. The student’s last day in school was December 6. The district has completed its contact tracing and identified one student who must enter mandatory quarantine at home as a precaution. 
  • A student from Columbia High School has tested positive for COVID-19. The student’s last day in school was December 6. There was no exposure at school related to this case.
  • A student from Columbia High School has tested positive for COVID-19. The student’s last day in school was December 3. The district has completed its contact tracing and identified two students who must enter mandatory quarantine at home as a precaution. There were two additional contacts related to this case, but because those individuals recently recovered from COVID-19 they do not need to quarantine.

Donald P. Sutherland Elementary School

  • A student from Donald P. Sutherland Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19. The student’s last day in school was November 29. There was no exposure at school related to this case.

Genet Elementary School

  • A student from Genet Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19. The student’s last day in school was December 9. The district has completed its contact tracing and identified three students who must enter mandatory quarantine at home as a precaution. 

Green Meadow Elementary School

  • A student from Green Meadow Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19. The student’s last day in school was December 9. There was no exposure at school related to this case.
  • A student from Green Meadow Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19. The student’s last day in school was December 7. There was no exposure at school related to this case.

Red Mill Elementary School

  • A student from Red Mill Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19. The student’s last day in school was December 9. There was no exposure at school related to this case.
  • A student from Red Mill Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19. The student’s last day in school was December 1. There was no exposure at school related to this case.

The district would like to remind everyone to maintain the strong habits we are developing as a school community:

  • Maintain social distancing when out in public.
  • Wear masks at all times when inside schools and on school buses.
  • Wash hands with soap and water frequently and thoroughly. Use hand sanitizer when soap and water is not available.
  • Monitor for COVID-19 symptoms and in the event someone is sick, stay at home.
  • In alignment with recommendations from health and medical professionals, the East Greenbush CSD strongly encourages everyone who is eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine. COVID-19 Vaccine Finder.
