Capital Project

The East Greenbush CSD has proposed a $116 million capital project that, if approved by voters, would improve facilities and grounds at all seven schools at no additional cost to the local taxpayer. The proposed capital project will be a proposition on the School Budget Vote and Board Election ballot scheduled for Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Genet Elementary School student Jacob Plonka delivered season’s greetings to the sick in December. He collected holiday cards from schools around the East Greenbush Central School District and then delivered them to patients at St. Peter’s Hospital.

“We were thinking of how we could help people with COVID and this is one of the ideas I had,” Jacob said. “It makes me feel happy.”

Jacob’s dad, Bob Plonka, said he was proud of his son for taking on this project.

“He’s thinking of others,” Mr. Plonka said. “You can’t ask for anything more.”
