Capital Project

The East Greenbush CSD has proposed a $116 million capital project that, if approved by voters, would improve facilities and grounds at all seven schools at no additional cost to the local taxpayer. The proposed capital project will be a proposition on the School Budget Vote and Board Election ballot scheduled for Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

The following message was emailed to all staff and parents on January 31, 2022.

The East Greenbush Central School District has suspended temperature checks which are conducted as students enter school buildings each morning. The district first implemented temperature checks in September 2020 as one of many mitigation strategies. However, New York State guidance does not require schools to conduct temperature checks, and over the course of 17 months, our schools have experienced very few instances in which a student or employee has been identified as having a fever upon entry to the schools each day.

With the expansion of testing within our schools and at home, and the evolving nature of the pandemic, we have determined that temperature checks may be an unnecessary use of our staff resources.

Staff members assigned to conduct temperature checks are needed for other responsibilities and will be reassigned to help students disembark from buses safely and provide supervision in hallways and cafeterias.
