Kindergarten Students Learn the Basics of Finance

Students watching presentation in classKindergarten students at Donald P. Sutherland Elementary School completed their economics unit on Thursday with a virtual visit from two SEFCU educators. The students participated in a workshop led by the special guests called Finn’s Financial Adventure to learn more about money in a fun and engaging way.

As part of the program, students created a dynamic adventure-based storyline by guiding Finn through a series of spending, saving, sharing and earning experiences. Along the way, they practiced problem-solving and critical thinking to make financial decisions while prioritizing needs and wants.

“The kids really enjoyed this interactive learning experience which required them to make good financial decisions as they ventured through a story and tried to achieve their special goal,” said DPS Kindergarten Teacher Shondra Conyers.
