All East Greenbush CSD schools will have a half day on Friday, April 26 due to professional development. Dismissal Times: Columbia (10:03 a.m.), Goff (10:40 a.m.), Pre-K at DPS/Genet/Green Meadow/Red Mill (10:45 a.m.), Genet (11:15 a.m.), Bell Top (11:30 a.m.), DPS (11:30 a.m.), Green Meadow (11:30 a.m.), Red Mill (11:30 a.m.).

Good Afternoon Genet Families!

Happy Friday to you all!  As we close out another fantastic week at Genet, here are a few updates from this week and looking towards the week ahead:

Genet Specials for the Week of May 9th:

Next week will be an A Week for specials.

Scholastic Book Fair – Week of May 16th 

We will be welcoming the Scholastic Book Fair to Genet the Week of May 16th.  Students will have an opportunity to purchase new books to read!  Students will go to the book fair during their library time that week.  There will be extra time on Thursday that week if anyone forgot money!  More information to come next week!

Reminder – 4th and 5th Grade Concert – Monday, May 9th

A friendly reminder to families that the 4th and 5th Grade Spring Concert will be taking place in our auditorium on Monday, May 9th.  Students should be dressed and at Genet by 6:30 PM.  If there are any questions, please reach out to your child’s music teacher.

16 Handles Fundraiser – Monday, May 9th 

The PTO is sponsoring a fundraiser at 16 Handles in East Greenbush NY.  Here is the flyer that was sent home with your child today: 16 Handles Fundraiser – Monday, May 9th.  Hope to see you there!

5th Grade Field Trip Reminder:

5th Graders will be going to 6 Flags New England on Friday, June 3rd.  All permission slips and money for both students and chaperones are due May 23rd.  Here is the permission slip for students if you have misplaced one: 5th Grade Permission Slip for 6 Flags New England.

Student Council Pet Food Drive:

The Genet Student Council is sponsoring a Pet Food Drive for the Mohawk Humane Society.  If you are interested in donating any pet foods or toys, please send them in with your child(ren) and members of Student Council will collect them!

Author Visit with James Preller:

Our students had a wonderful time with a visit from local author James Preller.  He discussed with students the Writing Process and how ideas can be turned into a novel.  Students had an opportunity to engage in a Q&A.  Thank you to our PTO for helping to sponsor this opportunity!

Kindergarten Screening

Kindergarten Screening for the Fall of 2022 is scheduled to take place Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (May 10th-12th) at Genet.  If you have any questions, please contact the Genet Main Office at 518-207-2681.

Genet Jaguar Running Club:

Columbia Lacrosse Club:
