Students running in the Bell Top Fun Run on Monday afternoon to earn donations for enrichment programs and field trips.
The Bell Top PTO raised $21,000 for enrichment programs and field trips for students through an online fundraising campaign over the past two weeks. The fundraiser enlisted students, parents, teachers and the community to obtain pledges for how many laps the students could run at the Fun Run behind school on Monday.
Classes were awarded prizes for achieving certain goals including extra recess, popsicles, and at the end of the Fun Run, an opportunity to silly string their teachers and Principal Martin Mahar.
“This event was several months in the making and required collaboration and teamwork from the entire Bell Top community,” said Mr. Mahar. “I am grateful to all involved, especially the PTO and the teachers, whose commitment and dedication was instrumental to make this a reality for the students. Activities such as these bring us one step closer to the return to normalcy.”
There were many prizes and goals along the way, but none more exciting than getting to silly string Principal Mahar and the Bell Top teachers! pic.twitter.com/x5KXeyCG6p
