All schools will be closed for Spring Recess starting Thursday, March 28 through Monday, April 8. The first day back from break is scheduled for Tuesday, April 9. Have a safe and enjoyable break!

The following letter was sent to PK-11 parents via email on Wednesday, June 22.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are fast approaching another successful academic year and our 4th year since implementing the Lighthouse Chromebook 1:1 program.  Two years ago (during Covid) we expanded the program to include grades K-2. We now have a full program for grades K-12. Our investments in this program continue to yield positive results for our students and families. Thanks to the influx of federal funding under the ESSER-2 program, we have been able to refresh most of the chromebooks. We are in the middle of the distribution phase as the year comes to a close and we want to communicate with you regarding your child’s chromebook.   

Please consult the following table to learn about the status of your child’s new chromebook (by the grade they are entering):

Grade 2 Grade 3 A new device was given to your student in April 2022. Keep it over the summer unless otherwise instructed by your school.  If you did not receive one in April, a device will be given to you in September. 
Grade 3 Grade 4 A new device was given to your student in September 2021.  Keep the device over the summer unless otherwise instructed by your school.  
Grade 4 Grade 5 A new device was given to your student in May 2022. Keep the device over the summer unless otherwise instructed by your school.  If you did not receive one in May, a device will be given to you in September.
Grade 5 Grade 6 Keep the OLD device with you for the summer, it will be collected at Goff in September New devices will be distributed at Open House in August or at the beginning of the school year
Grade 6 Grade 7 Keep the device with you for the summer Was replaced in March 2022
Grade 7 Grade 8 Keep the device with you for the summer Was replaced in March 2022
Grade 8 Grade 9 Keep the device with you for the summer Will be distributed at Open House in August
Grade 9 Grade 10 Keep the device with you for the summer Will be replaced over the summer or in September

Our experience has shown that it is a good idea to make sure that the device is used every couple of weeks and the battery is kept charged. Do not keep the battery plugged in longer than is necessary to charge it.

Please be careful with the device and store it safely.  

Please do not use the device for playing games or activities that are not educational. The extra wear and tear on the device will shorten the life of the unit.

The district will continue this program for the 2022-2023 academic year for grades K through 12.

Our students will continue to receive unprecedented access to web-based resources using these very valuable tools for learning.
