EDITOR’S NOTE: Unfortunately, this event scheduled for March 15 has been postponed due to many power outages in Averill Park.

East Greenbush CSD parents are invited to attend “Hidden Dangers,” a free event about vaping and marijuana on Wednesday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the SHAC Community Center in Averill Park.

A mock teen bedroom will be set up at the event and parents will be challenged to find drug paraphernalia, particularly related to vapes/vaping and marijuana. There will be a debrief to show parents all of the items and hiding spots they missed. The purpose is to build an awareness of how substances are ever changing and producers/users are getting more creative at how to hide these products. While that activity is the focus, parents will also be learning about substance/substance use in general.

The event is being presented by the grassroots organization Nopiates.
