We stopped by a dress rehearsal earlier this week to speak with Aidan Halsey ’23 who is playing Adam. He was nominated for Best Actor in the 6th annual High School Musical Theatre Awards last year for his performance in “Little Women.” Mr. Halsey has also been involved with Park Playhouse, Master Class Performing Arts and Staging Youth’s Future, Inc.

Q: What do you like about your character?
A: He’s a super chill guy. I portray him as a skater dude, which is fun because it’s not something I usually get to play. It’s a new kind of role and it’s fun.

Q: How are the rehearsals going so far?
A: They’ve been going well. It’s coming together pretty nicely so I’m excited to perform in front of an audience.

Q: What do you like about this musical?
A: It’s a fun show. It’s exciting to portray a familiar story, because I’m sure people have seen the movie, but in a new way.

Q: What’s your favorite scene or song from this show?
A: My song “Women and Sandwiches.” We’re sitting on a bench and I’m singing about sandwiches. It’s funny and it’s a nice one to sing.

Q: Why should folks come out and see this show?
A: It’s a fun time. If you’re looking for entertainment, this is the place to be.

Come see the Columbia Players perform “Freaky Friday” on Friday, March 3 (6:00 p.m.) and Saturday, March 4 (7:00 p.m.) in the Columbia High School Auditorium! Tickets are available at the door and cost $12 for students and $15 for all others.
