I am a lifelong resident of the area and my wife Heidi and I have lived within the East Greenbush CSD for 30 years. We are the proud parents of three children; Patrick (CHS 2012), Zachary (CHS 2017), and Leah (CHS 2022). I am a graduate of Siena College and have worked in the private and public sectors. I currently work as the Director of Human Resources for our local BOCES.

As an EGCSD board member, it has been an honor to serve the school community for the past nine years, the last six of those years as the board president. I am seeking a fourth term as a board member to continue to support the future planning of our school district. We need to continue to invest resources in a fiscally responsible manner in order to provide the high-quality educational opportunities that our students and families have come to expect and deserve. We also need to continue to support our faculty and staff with the tools they need to be successful. I believe that my work and board experience can continue to benefit the district as we navigate the challenging issues of the future. Thank you for your support.

Mark Mann, Board of Education vice president

I have decided to seek another term on the East Greenbush CSD Board of Education where I currently serve as the Vice President. I wish to continue my dedicated service and where I always put the needs of our children first, while making it a safe and enjoyable school district for our staff.

I currently serve on the district’s Health and Safety committee and have been instrumental in the design and development of several security policies and enhancements within the district.

I retired from the East Greenbush Police Department in 2015, as well as doing seven years with the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office. I was proud to have served the residents of East Greenbush and the county for 28 years. I was the department’s DARE Officer and School Resource Officer, prior to becoming the department’s evidence technician. I am a veteran of the United States Air Force, and still serve as a Chief Master Sergeant within the NY Air National Guard. I also volunteer my time as the bingo coordinator for the Rensselaer Elks, and the Elks Veteran’s Committee.

My wife Tina and I have lived in East Greenbush for the past 27 years. We have two children, both successful graduates of Columbia High School.

I am a proud native of the Capital Region and have dedicated over 12 years to public service in New York State. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Management, and Economics from SUNY Empire State College and am currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration at SUNY Albany’s Rockefeller College. My extensive experience in various New York State departments, including my current role as an Associate Accountant with the Department of Health, has honed my skills in resource management, problem-solving, and collaboration.

As a parent of three children attending Red Mill Elementary School, I am deeply invested in the quality of education and the well-being of students in the East Greenbush Central School District. My commitment to the community is demonstrated through my active involvement in local organizations. As a volunteer with Sponsor-A-Scholar, I work to provide specialized programs, mentoring, and academic and financial support to qualifying high school students in the Capital Region, promoting community, opportunity, responsibility, and education. This experience has given me a deep understanding of the challenges faced by students and the importance of creating access to higher education.

In addition, I am part of the New Leaders Council, where I contribute to fostering ecosystems of local changemakers dedicated to equitable change. By connecting with inclusive, cross-sector leaders, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of the needs of diverse communities and the importance of working together for social and political progress in a bipartisan manner.

As a candidate for the East Greenbush Central School District Board of Education, I am determined to address current challenges while strategically preparing the district for a sustainable future. My vision is to ensure that our educational programs can withstand any economic condition and continue a trajectory towards excellence. With a strong background in education, public service, and community involvement, I am eager to bring my experience and passion to the board, working towards a more inclusive and equitable future for all students.

I have been a resident of East Greenbush for 21 years. I have three children. Two have graduated from Columbia High School, Caitlyn (Class of 2020) and Jeremy (Class of 2022). Our third child, Nathan (Class of 2026), is a freshman at Columbia High School. I graduated from Siena College, with a degree in Business Administration and have worked for New York State Taxation and Finance for 28 years with 22 of them in the Division of Audit.

Since being a resident of East Greenbush I have always enjoyed being involved and supportive of various organizations in the community. When my children were little, I began volunteering in the activities that they participated in. I found myself as a coach (baseball, football, basketball, softball) religious education monitor, and fundraising for East Greenbush-Castleton Little League. I have enjoyed being a part of these organizations. As my children moved on from sports, my commitment did not waver. I have been part of the Sean Strong 5K, East Greenbush Christmas parade and I am currently the president of Southern Rensselaer County Babe Ruth (four years running). I feel being involved, whatever way possible, is a fulfilling means to make a positive contribution to the community.

I am seeking to be elected to the East Greenbush Board of Education where I will utilize my work experience and commitment to the community, towards supporting the school administration, teachers, students, families, and community members. I believe students should be offered a safe learning environment where they can grow intellectually and socially, while trying to help the district remain fiscally responsible. I appreciate the opportunity to apply for the position and hope to continue serving the community.
