The Columbia Girls’ Varsity Flag Football team continued its historic inaugural season on Saturday, defeating Corning-Painted Post, 12-0, at Shenendehowa High School to win a regional championship. With the victory, the Blue Devils advance to the final four of the New York State Flag Football Championships.
Columbia’s (14-1) defense led the way with five interceptions and secured the shutout. Both touchdowns were scored by wide receiver Alivia Landy in the second half, one receiving and one punt return.
Columbia advances to the NYS Semifinals and will play Plainville-Old Bethpage on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Cortland High School.
