After long and dedicated careers in education, 26 employees are retiring from the East Greenbush Central School District. The teachers and staff were recognized for their service at Wednesday’s public Board of Education meeting in the Columbia High School auditorium.
The retirees represent all areas of the school district – teachers, teaching assistants, bus drivers, custodians, secretaries and other vital support personnel – and all of them have had a positive impact on students over the years.
“This is an exceptional group of educators who are retiring after this school year!” said Mr. Simons. “If you count the number of children positively impacted by these employees during their tenure with the East Greenbush Central Schools, it is clearly in the tens of thousands!”
“We are grateful as each of these individuals who are retiring helped to shape the positive educational community we experience in East Greenbush,” Mr. Simons continued. “While they may no longer work here on a daily basis, they’ll always be part of our community.”
Congratulations and best wishes!
