Two dozen teachers were recognized at the public Board of Education meeting on Wednesday evening for participating in the East Greenbush Central School District’s educator mentor program.
The program pairs a new teacher with an experienced teacher in their same school or subject area to provide support and coaching throughout the school year to help ensure their success.
“We are incredibly proud of our mentees and grateful to our mentors,” said Superintendent Jeff Simons. “Each of the mentees committed extra time outside the classroom to engage with their mentor to strengthen their instructional practices. The mentors selflessly give of their time and expertise; sharing their experiences so that new teachers feel connected which reduces isolation and fosters the confidence new teachers need to make an impact on students and to remain in the profession.”
Congratulations!
