Eighth grade students at Howard L. Goff Middle School learned about the history of the Capital Region, and specifically, about the East Greenbush area during class presentations last week from Anna Doren, Director of Education for the Rensselaer County Historical Society.
The students looked at primary source documents such as photos and newspaper clippings and learned how the area transformed due to industrialization, the post World War II baby boom, and the building of the interstate highway system and the Nelson Rockefeller Empire State Plaza.
