Bell Top 5th graders received graduation certificates on Friday in front of their families at the Moving Up Ceremony in the school gym. Fifth grade teachers Alyssa Breznak, Sheri Valenti, and Chris LaBarge, along with other Bell Top teachers and staff, congratulated the students for successfully completing elementary school.
The students will move on to 6th grade at Howard L. Goff Middle School in September.
During the ceremony, Principal Martin Mahar recalled some of the fun Bell Top traditions that the students experienced during their elementary school years such as making apple cider and maple syrup in the Learning Barn, participating in coding club, running in the annual Pumpkin Run, reading in the Bell Top Book Club, and developing positive character traits through character education assemblies.
“Your time at Bell Top was the foundation of your education,” said Mr. Mahar. “Now, take what you have learned to achieve new goals and carry on to find success.”
The Moving Up Ceremony began with a processional and then students performing the song “Count on Me.” The 5th grade teachers played a video of them reading “Oh the Places You’ll Go” by Dr. Seuss, and a separate video of the other Bell Top teachers sharing their good wishes with the students.
Congratulations to all of the Bell Top students from the Class of 2024!
