Columbia’s Junior Class is sponsoring a bus trip to New York City on Saturday, November 2, 2024, that includes the option to see the Broadway performance of “Sunset Boulevard.” The trip is open to students, families, staff and friends in the East Greenbush school community.

Musical Option: We are offering the opportunity to purchase tickets to see “Sunset Boulevard” at 2 pm at the St. James Theatre at 246 West 44th Street. Nicole Scherzinger (Pussycat Dolls member and judge for the X-Factor and The Masked Singer) will bring her “unmistakably triumphant” performance as Norma Desmond to Broadway after the production was hailed as London’s 2023 Best Show of the Year! The musical swept London’s 2024 Laurence Olivier Awards winning Best Musical Revival, Best Actress in a Musical (Scherzinger), and Best Actor in a Musical (Tom Francis). Haunted by her memories and dreams, movie star Norma Desmond (Scherzinger) yearns to return to the big screen. A struggling screenwriter (Francis) who can’t sell his scripts to the Hollywood studios may be her only hope, until their dangerous and compelling relationship leads to disastrous circumstances. Drenched in champagne and cynicism, Sunset Boulevard scrutinizes the ambitions and the frustrations of its characters and their intoxicating need for fame and adoration.
Cost:

- Please be aware that all students will need adult supervision (21 years old or older) in NYC in order to go on the trip
Itinerary:
- Depart from Columbia High School at 7:30 a.m. on Yankee Trails bus
- Arrive at Bryant Park (42nd and 5th) at approximately 10:30 a.m.
- Spend the day in NYC
- Depart from Bryant Park at 7:30 p.m.
- Arrive at Columbia High School at approximately 10:30 p.m.
