The following letter was posted on ParentSquare for all parents and guardians on Monday, August 12.
Dear Parent or Guardian,
The East Greenbush Central School District is bringing Stopfinder, a new parent app, to all students for the 2024-25 school year! Stopfinder allows you to see in real-time where your child’s bus is and have the most accurate information about your child’s bus schedule and attendance in the palm of your hand.
You can also create GeoAlerts for your child, which will notify you when the bus has arrived or departed from any location on your child’s route, including their assigned bus stop and school. GeoAlert Alert Zones can be created for individual students allowing you to customize the Alert Zone based on their bus route. Stopfinder also includes the ability to create Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) alerts based on your student’s assigned stop.
Stopfinder can also notify you when your child swipes their bus card. Stopfinder will let you know when and where your child has gotten on or off of the school bus. Bus cards work on any EGCSD school bus. Please be sure your student has their bus card with them for the first day of school! Kindergarten students will receive their bus cards on 9/5/24.
Steps for First Time Users:
Step 1: Download the Stopfinder app
Stopfinder can be downloaded for free from the App Store or Google Play. Parents and guardians are encouraged to download the Stopfinder app prior to receiving your child’s Stopfinder invitation email.
Step 2: Activate your Stopfinder subscriber Invitation
Stopfinder will require an invite and registration through the district prior to accessing your student’s transportation schedule. The primary email address that is currently on file with the district will be used for Stopfinder setup. Please contact the EGCSD Registrar to make a change to your primary email address prior to Monday, August 26th. Please watch for a Stopfinder invitation, which will be emailed to your primary email address, between August 26th and August 30th. IN ORDER TO VIEW YOUR STUDENT’S 24-25 BUS SCHEDULE PRIOR TO THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL, PLEASE SELECT THE DATE 9/5/24 ON THE STOPFINDER APP.
Step 3: Set up your Stopfinder GeoAlerts and notifications
You can customize your alerts and notifications in Stopfinder. You can also share your child’s information with your family, friends, neighbors, and daycares as subscribers.
If you are a current Stopfinder Subscriber, you do not need to download the Stopfinder app again. Simply select 9/5/24 on the app to view your student’s 24-25 routing information. During the last week of August, you will receive an email invitation for any child who has not been activated to date.
