East Greenbush CSD Announces Half Days for June 23-24

In anticipation of extreme heat this week and its impact on health and safety in schools, the East Greenbush Central School District will have half days for grades PK-8 on Monday, June 23 and Tuesday, June 24. The current weather forecast shows temperatures in the mid-90s and a heat index reaching 105 degrees.

Red Mill Great Apple Race Schedule

Students running in the Red Mill Great Apple RaceRed Mill’s annual Great Apple Race is scheduled for Thursday, October 17 behind the school. All parents are welcome to attend this fun event. You do NOT need to sign in; please go directly to the outside field.

The Kindergarten and 1st grade students will race a distance of 300 meters (once around the track). Second through 5th grade students will run a distance of 600 meters (twice around the track).

All students participating will receive a certificate of participation and an apple. First, second and third place finishers in each grade level, boys and girls, will receive awards. A Delicious Apple award will be given to those students chosen in each class by Mr. Sankey and Mr. Welge for their effort and sportsmanship displayed throughout the fall running program.

Schedule

4th Grade – 9:25-9:45 a.m.
3rd Grade – 9:50-10:10 a.m.
Kindergarten – 10:15-10:35 a.m.
5th Grade – 10:40-11:00 a.m.
2nd Grade – 11:05-11:25 a.m.
1st Grade – 11:30-11:50 a.m.

The Awards Ceremony will take place following all races at 2:30 p.m. on the back field.
