The Columbia Girls’ Soccer team won its third straight Section 2 Class AA Championship on Saturday evening, defeating Niskayuna 1-0 at Stillwater High School. The lone goal was scored by standout senior Kennedy Ring in the first half. She redirected the ball into the goal off a free kick from teammate Izzy Seibert.
Columbia goalkeeper Anna Nassivera recorded the shutout.
“This is so nice. We’ve been working on this all year,” Ring told the Times Union after the game. “This is exciting. We are on to the next part of it.”
