Columbia High School hosted a postsecondary information event called the World Beyond High School on Wednesday evening so juniors, seniors and their parents could learn more about opportunities after high school. Families learned about the college admissions process, SAT exams, resume writing tips, and college and career pathways available to them.
The event was well attended and offered students and their families an opportunity to consider the future.
There were representatives from Russell Sage College, Siena College, Hudson Valley Community College, the Electrician and Carpenters Apprenticeship Programs, the Center for Access and Assistive Technology (CAAT), the Marines, and Columbia High School.
“Giving students the chance to explore the opportunities beyond the world of high school provides them with the knowledge that they will need to make informed decisions about their future endeavors in an ever changing world,” said Guidance Department Chair Sharon Dunn.
Special thanks to Sharon Dunn, Lori Dunigan and all of the representatives who attended the event!
