Visit our Facebook page to see inside the classroom of Greg Tarkos’s Forensics class at Columbia High School. On Friday, students made molds of their hair and then examined them under microscopes. Each student used a strand of hair, clear nail polish and a microscope slide to make their mold. After observing what they saw under the microscope, students sketched a picture of their cuticle on a worksheet.

In their next class, students acted as forensic technicians as they compared hair samples from four suspects in a fictional case.

Inside the Classroom will be a regular feature on our website and Facebook page in which we highlight the learning that goes on in our classrooms.
