Green Meadow students learn about healthcare in a fun and engaging way with medical students from Albany Medical College.
On Saturday, December 7, the Green Meadow PTO partnered with Albany Medical Center to host a Teddy Bear Clinic at Green Meadow. Over 50 families attended the event, which included local medical students from Albany Medical College.
The Teddy Bear Clinic, a popular event at local schools, provides a fun and educational opportunity for students to learn about healthcare in an engaging and interactive way.
“We’re so excited that students from Albany Medical College brought their Teddy Bear Clinic to Green Meadow! This fun and educational experience will help our students feel less anxious about future medical appointments. It was a great day for everyone!” said Principal Daniel Garab.
Students in grades Pre-K through 2nd were invited to bring their favorite stuffed animal, action figure or doll to the cafeteria where they rotated through various medical stations, such as X-ray, bike helmet safety, and CPR. At each station, they received guidance from Albany Medical College students and residents on how to care for their “patient.”
