Despite dropping temperatures outside, the 35th annual Winterfest was warm and inviting at Howard L. Goff Middle School on Saturday. The event began with Goff Middle School’s Famous Pancake Breakfast followed by family friendly activities throughout the day. There were bounce houses and games, mini golf, animal shows, food and crafts, a Winterfest basket raffle, and the opportunity to fly drones.
The event also raised money for important causes:
- More than 270 pancake breakfasts were sold which directly benefits the 8th Grade Washington DC Trip
- More than $2,200 collected in basket raffles which benefits all Goff students
- More than $750 raised by the Transportation Department to fund their holiday giving such as turkeys for local food pantries at Thanksgiving and candy canes for students at Christmas
The community event is sponsored by the East Greenbush Education Foundation in cooperation with the East Greenbush Central School District and the school PTOs.
“The East Greenbush Education Foundation would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone in the community who made the 35th Winterfest a success!,” said Angel Schweigert, president of the East Greenbush Education Foundation. “Whether through generous donations, participation in the pancake breakfast, or supporting our local vendors, your involvement made all the difference. We truly appreciate each and every one of you who joined us to celebrate and support this wonderful tradition!”
Other Winterfest activities included a 6th Grade Activity Night on Friday evening and COSMIC Bowling at the East Greenbush Bowling Center.
Special thanks to those who made this community event possible including the East Greenbush Education Foundation, our PTOs, school staff, student clubs and teams, and all of our community groups and vendors!
