On Monday and Tuesday, Howard L. Goff Middle School students attended a presentation on vaping and youth, led by Columbia High School and Goff Middle School Student Assistance Counselor Amber Smith. The presentation, held during PE classes for all students, focused on identifying what vapes are, strategies for resisting peer pressure, dispelling myths and misconceptions about vaping, the health risks involved, and how to get help or quit vaping. Students were encouraged to ask questions throughout the presentation.

“The vaping presentation earlier this week was an essential to educate our students on the serious health risks associated with vaping. By providing them with accurate information and empowering them to make informed choices, we are helping to safeguard their well-being and create a healthier school community,” said Goff Interim Principal Jim McHugh.
