Nassautawney Marty, or Marty the Magnificent as he is known, predicted an early spring during a fun video at Donald P. Sutherland Elementary School on Friday. The guinea pig in Principal Jack Alvey’s office was given a choice of a carrot (early spring) or celery (six more weeks of winter).

After some hesitation, Marty the Magnificent scurried to the carrot, picked it up in his teeth and began munching on it.

Students (and staff) were excited to watch the video and see Marty the Magnificent’s weather prediction!
