CHS Science Olympiad team at 2025 Regional ChampionshipsColumbia High School won 19 medals and placed 4th overall at the Science Olympiad Regional Championships this past weekend at Ballston Spa High School. The competition included 19 teams from around the Capital Region.

“The students have made big strides in their competition this year,” said Head Coach Jeffrey Amos. “We’d especially like to thank our seniors, Mok Ravilla, Treasurer Umaiza Shah, Secretary Payten Hines, and Captain Sophia Xiao!”

Silver:

  • Fossils – Lizzy Daoust and Brooke Haney
  • Helicopter – Payten Hines and Jay Meyyan

Bronze:

  • Bungee Drop – Ryan Ecker and Emmeline Bombard
  • Disease Detectives – Manya Madan and Emmeline Bombard
  • Entomology – Lizzy Daoust and Lyla Maguffin
  • Forensics – Payten Hines and Lizzy Daoust

4th – 6th Place:

  • Air Trajectory – Ryan Ecker and Logan Messina
  • Chem Lab – Sophia Xiao and Ryan Ecker
  • Codebusters – Saige Keenholts, Sai Sriperambuduri, and Evan Victor Pole
  • Ecology – Ryan Ecker and Snehaa Gopinath
