The Columbia High School bands will present a concert with guest saxophonist Dr. Russell Haight ’99 on Tuesday, March 25 at 7:00 p.m. in the school auditorium. Dr. Haight will perform with the Goff 8th Grade Band as well as the CHS Jazz, Concert, and Symphonic Bands.
Dr. Haight, a graduate of Columbia, has shared the stage with many musical luminaries in both the jazz and commercial idioms. Both an accomplished author and educator, Dr. Haight previously taught at Texas State University for 12 years before returning home to the Capital Region. Currently, he is Associate Professor of Saxophone and coordinator of the jazz program at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
Donations are suggested, but not required, to benefit CHS music scholarships ($3 individual/$10 family).
