Budget Workshop - April 22

The East Greenbush CSD is hosting Budget Workshop #4 at the public Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, April 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the Goff Middle School cafeteria. All residents are invited to attend and learn more about the proposed school budget for next year.

On Saturday, March 15th Columbia Science Research Program Students Ei Aung , Shreeya Pullela, and Umaiza Shah presented their research projects at the Regeneron Greater Capital Region
Science and Engineering Fair, Inc. at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

This prestigious competition is an affiliate of the of The Regeneron Talent Search, and features projects across 22 categories with participants from over 20 schools districts from the Capital Region. 

Presentations:

  • Ei Aung – “The Nutritional Value of Food Choices Following the Ending of SNAP Emergency Allotments”
  • Shreeya Pullela – “What is the relationship between the presence of CHIP and the Risk for Inflammation”
  • Umaiza Shah – “Using The Pediatric Sleep Questionnaire (PSQ) to Determine The Impact of Snoring and Sleepiness on Behavior of School-Aged Children”

Shreeya was awarded The GCRSEF Excellence in Computer Science Award (a project that demonstrates the innovative use of computer programs to address an important problem facing society).

Ei Aung was awarded Price Chopper’s Golub Foundation Award in Memory of Jane Golub (This award is for a project in nutrition that promotes good health).

Columbia’s Science Research program accepts applications from freshmen every spring. The application includes an essay, two teacher recommendations (at least one from a science teacher) and a 1-on-1 interview with Mrs. Gleason
