Columbia High School sophomore Snehaa Gopinath ’27 finished in the top 10 at the Albany Regional Brain Bee on March 1 at Albany Medical College. The Brain Bee is an annual neuroscience trivia competition for students aged 13 to 19.
The regional competition featured 32 students from 12 local high schools.
The format is similar to a spelling bee and features three rounds. The first two rounds were multiple choice questions and the third round was a practical in which students identified specific regions on a brain model and analyzed videos demonstrating neurological disorders.
As a participant in the Brain Bee, Ms. Gopinath had the opportunity to hear from local university students and attend two panel discussions – one with biology and biochemistry majors from local colleges and the other with PhD and MD candidates from Albany Medical College.
Congratulations!
