The East Greenbush CSD is hosting Budget Workshop #4 at the public Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, April 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the Goff Middle School cafeteria. All residents are invited to attend and learn more about the proposed school budget for next year.

Columbia’s Accounting Students Compete in Stock Market Challenge

Last week, Columbia High School’s Accounting Class competed in a Stock Market competition at SUNY Albany Broadview Stadium. The event provided students an opportunity to experience a simulated stock market first-hand! Students prepared by being introduced to basic investment concepts and how the stock market works. The competition simulated a real stock market and allowed students to buy and sell stocks. Teams competed to accumulate the highest portfolio while learning about investing, trading, strategy.

More than 500 students from across the Capital Region competed on 129 teams. Columbia’s team placed 20th overall. The top team included Sebastian Tenempaguay, Tyler Secor, EhNi Htoo, and Oliver Hogsberg.  Congratulations to these future stock market experts!
