Visit our Facebook page to see inside the classroom of Genet First Grade Teacher Laurie Marchiony. Student’s in Mrs. Marchiony’s class learned about camouflage for their recent science lesson. The lesson started with students watching a Mystery Science video where they learned how different species camouflage themselves to hid from predators. After the video, students worked in pairs to search the classroom for paper camouflaged moths that Mrs. Marchiony had hidden.

Once they found the moths, they colored them in on their own moth worksheets. As a final step, students designed and colored their own moths, using shading techniques to help them blend into different parts of the classroom.
