The Columbia Girls’ Varsity Flag Football team won a regional championship on Saturday, defeating Central Square High School 45-12 at SUNY Morrisville. The Blue Devils dominated the game from start to finish with quarterback Bella Satalino passing for six touchdowns and Alivia Landy scoring four touchdowns.
“We needed to make sure that we accomplished our goal of getting back to states,” Columbia head coach Craig Cavotta told the Times Union after the game. “The girls came out ready to go.”
Columbia (15-2) advances to the NYS Semifinals and will play Tappan Zee (19-0) on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Cortland High School.
