On Thursday, June 6, nearly 240 of 7th grade students from Howard L. Goff Middle School had the opportunity to take part in an exciting and educational field trip to Boston. Traveling together on seven Yankee Trails buses and accompanied by 80 chaperones and staff members, the group set out early in the morning for a full day of activities.
The trip was a great opportunity for students to experience some of Boston’s most popular landmarks and educational attractions. One of the stops was the Museum of Science, where students explored interactive exhibits and hands-on displays covering topics like physics, biology, engineering, and space exploration. This provided students with a fun way to connect what they’ve learned in the classroom with real-world science.
The groups also visited Faneuil Hall, one of Boston’s most historic locations, where students were able to see a piece of American history up close and take in the unique atmosphere of the surrounding marketplace. In addition to Faneuil Hall, many students enjoyed visiting the New England Aquarium, where they saw a wide variety of marine life including sea turtles, penguins, and the famous giant ocean tank.
A highlight of the trip for many was the Boston Duck Boat Tour, where students were able to ride through the streets of Boston and then splash into the Charles River for a unique view of the city. The tour guides shared fun facts, historical information, and asked the students some trivia questions.
“Overall, the Boston field trip was a great success and our students represented Goff Middle School positively!” said Goff Assistant Principal Riley O’Malley.
Special thanks to the Goff staff and chaperones who made this trip possible!
