Columbia High School seniors Ei Aung ’25 and Evan Rainville ’25 were named Class of 2025 valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, at the Columbia High School Awards earlier this month. Both students have had accomplished high school careers, including weighted GPAs over 100.

Valedictorian
Ei Aung

Ei Aung is a member of the National Honor Society, the Columbia Science Research Program and the district’s Advocacy Committee. Her passion for service is evident in her leadership during a fundraiser for Myanmar civilians affected by a military coup, her scientific research on food insecurity, her participation in the Next Gen Neuroscience Program, and her volunteer work at St. Peter’s Hospital. She also founded 518STEMSTARS to introduce children to STEM.

Ei will attend Brown University in the fall where she will study biology or biochemistry with a minor in business.

Salutatorian
Evan Rainville

Evan Rainville is a member of the National Honor Society, the New York State Mentoring Program and he has served as a Student Ambassador, helping incoming freshmen navigate the transition to high school. A gifted basketball player, he joined the varsity team as a freshman and was named team captain by his sophomore year even though he was the youngest player on the team. In 2023, he was awarded the Certificate of Honor from St. Anne Institute for his outstanding contributions during the holiday season.

Evan will attend Johns Hopkins University this fall where he will prepare for a career in anesthesiology and play for the basketball team.

Congratulations!
