Meet the Candidates Night – Wednesday, May 13

Residents will have the opportunity to meet the four Board of Education candidates on Wednesday, May 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the Howard L. Goff Middle School cafeteria for Meet the Candidates Night. There are three open seats in this year’s election, which is scheduled for Tuesday, May 19. Each of the four candidates will discuss their qualifications and answer questions. The event will be hosted by the League of Women Voters.

Columbia trackThe Columbia High School track will have expanded access for community members this summer. Starting Thursday, July 17, the track will be open every morning from 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. this summer. Community members can park in the lot adjacent to the track and enter through the ticket booth gate.

Afternoon/evening availability will be posted on our website (see below for upcoming dates) and will be updated on an ongoing basis.

  • Wednesday, July 16 from 3:00-5:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 17 from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, July 22 from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, July 23 from 3:00-5:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 24 from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
  • Monday, July 28 from 3:00-5:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, July 29 from 3:00-5:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, July 30 from 3:00-5:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 31 from 4:00 pm-6:00 p.m.

Expectations for Community Use of Track

  • No food, drink, gum or sunflower seeds on the track or turf surfaces
  • No pets should be on school grounds or on the track or turf surfaces
  • No bikes, skateboard, rollerblades, scooters, etc. on track surface
  • Please cleanup after yourself and use the provided trash receptacles throughout the facility
  • Public use should be for individual use only and does not include group or team activities. Such events must be reserved through the district by submitting a Facility Use Form.
