The following letter is being sent to staff and parents/guardians via ParentSquare on July 24, 2025.

Dear Members of the East Greenbush School Community,

We are excited to be continuing our strategic planning process. As you may know, we began the process in June to develop a strategic plan that will guide our school district’s vision and priorities into the future.

We launched a strategic planning survey in June and received 348 submissions with 11,162 ratings. Thank you for your participation in the initial community ThoughtExchange.

Our administrative team and Board of Education has met to review those results and discuss some of the themes that were identified in the survey.

Our next step is to work with a large group of community and staff members to develop ideas for how to meet the district’s objectives in each of the areas that we have prioritized.

Our Strategic Planning Community Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 5 from 4:30-8:00 p.m. at Howard L. Goff Middle School. If you are interested in participating, please RSVP in ParentSquare. We are also making plans to record video of the event for those who cannot attend in person.

Thank you for considering this great opportunity to be a part of planning for our future. We’ll be sure to share the results with the entire community as we continue to pursue excellence in the East Greenbush Central School District.

Best wishes,

Dr. Kurtis Kotes
Superintendent of Schools
