Strategic Planning Community Meeting group

Members of the East Greenbush Central School District gathered for a Strategic Planning Community Meeting on Tuesday evening at Howard L. Goff Middle School.

More than 40 members of the East Greenbush Central School District – including teachers, staff, students, parents, school board members and community partners – gathered at Howard L. Goff Middle School on Tuesday evening for a Strategic Planning Community Meeting.

The meeting was part of the district’s strategic planning process and allowed stakeholders the opportunity to review survey data, offer feedback on draft mission, vision and core values, and brainstorm goals in three different areas of strategic priorities:

  • The Student Experience
    • Academic Excellence and Variety in Opportunities
    • Mental Health and Supports for All Students
    • Academic and Behavioral Accountability
  • The Staff Experience
    • Opportunities for Collaboration
    • Support for Innovation and Instructional Technology
    • Appropriate Staffing Levels
  • Operations
    • HVAC and Facility Upgrades
    • Long-Term Sustainability
    • Communication

Each of the priorities were identified based on the district’s recent strategic plan survey.

School administrators will now take the ideas generated from the meeting and develop a comprehensive action plan with clear responsibilities and timelines for implementation.

“I am grateful to the students, parents, staff, faculty and administration who gave a significant amount of time to take part in this planning process,” said Superintendent Dr. Kurtis Kotes. “Their contributions have helped to give voice to this process, guiding the district on where we can continue to best serve our students, setting them up for future successes.”

Further updates and opportunities for community feedback on the final strategic plan will be shared once the new school year begins.
